It is a lovely, historic, old theater. I love that they have yeast available for the pop corn. The tickets are so pricey these days though and the staff, especially the female manager is rude. I went to her to complain about staff members being loud in the projection booth. They were watching their own movie. The light was brightening the back of the theater and you could hear all of there sounds coming through over the horror movie we had all paid to see. Gun fire, explosions, laughter. Everything could be heard from the projection room. The manager was exceptionally rude and combative. Calling me a liar and saying there was no way that her staff was even in the projection booth. A few minutes after I got back into my seat, she came in and went up to projection. The lights and sounds stopped and three employees came out of the room with the manager behind them. My fiancé and I rarely go out any more, because we can't afford it. Half of our expensive movie experience was ruined by the staff. We were treated poorly and never received anything for the inconveniences. A simple apology would have been nice.
Th is beautiful theater is a downtown Grass Valley icon. You can see it from miles away. The art deco design is gorgeous. Come support this local theater!
The best theater in town. The fact that the location alone is in the heart of town is a huge plus. Make sure to shop around before your movie or after!
Nostalgia at it's finest! This theatre brings the kid outta everyone! Especially if that 41 and a 1/2 yr old just walked out of a special showing of PeeWee's Big Adventure! I love this place 💝 Someone buy it for me PLEEEASE! …
We brought my disabled brother to see a movie and were disappointed to be turned away as the movie was playing upstairs, and there was no elevator or any handicapped access. This was not made clear in any advertising for the theater.
It's kind of a stuffy little theater - we've almost left a few times because it gets so incredibly hot and the A.C. seems to never be turned on. I'd recommend the Onyx as your local theater if possible :-)
Fun, downtown, single screen. We saw "A haunting in Venice. Watch you step coming out of Theater.
This has always been my favorite theater, but today was special. A disabled man in a wheel chair came to see Mission Impossible, but it is showing on an upstairs screen, and I wasn't sure how he was going to do it. Anyway, I got my seat, and a few minutes later I see the man being carried up the flight of stairs, by who I found out later was Aiden, the Manager. Aiden had placed the man in his seat, brought him his snacks, told him he would check on him, and come back at the end of the movie. As soon as the lights came up, Aiden was there ready to give the man a lift back down to this chair. That is definitely service above and beyond and I'm sure much appreciated. Great job, Aiden!
